Len was at the wheel when his ship was hit by a Norwegian freighter.
He plunged into the icy straits.
Len held tightly to a lifering he grabbed off the rail near the pilothouse. Now he was reciting prayers as the suction pulled him under as the Cedarville rolled under. Divers would later recover all but one of the crew... and also the logbook that proved Len's story about the ship's final moments.
